Winter is not always cozy for everyone. While many of us seek warmth in our homes, some Canby residents face challenges like unemployment and medical issues, making it hard to pay utility bills. Canby Utility’s customer assistance program, Share the Warmth, enables neighbors to support one another in staying warm through winter.
This initiative offers financial help to qualified customers needing aid with their electric bills, thanks to the generosity of both the community and the Canby Utility Board.
With colder months and increased heating costs ahead, your support is crucial. Contributions are tax-deductible. Here’s how you can help: Write a check or money order payable to Share the Warmth as an income tax receipt. Include your donation with your electric payment or mail it to: Share the Warmth, c/o Canby Utility at PO Box 1070, Canby, OR 97013.
Thank you for making a difference. If you or someone you know needs help, contact our office to schedule an appointment. All appointments are held on Tuesdays between 9:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. The Canby Adult Center can only accommodate 30 customers per day. To be eligible for assistance, you must be a Canby Utility customer for at least six months, be low-income, disabled, a senior, or at risk of disconnection from electric service. A copy of your current billing statement and proof of income such as an Oregon Trail Card is required.
