In the Pipeline: What’s Next for the CWSP

Canby Utility’s Canby Water Supply Program (CWSP) is moving forward!

The program team is currently in the first major step of work: the Conceptual Engineering phase. During this phase, our engineers are evaluating how and where to build each part of the new system. First, they’re studying potential intake sites along the Willamette River.

They’re also mapping possible routes for the new water pipeline and exploring locations for the future water treatment plant. We will carefully review each option before making any decisions.

Working together, each part of the system will create a stronger, more reliable water supply that provides great-tasting water for Canby.

The Conceptual Engineering phase is important because it gives us an early idea of how CWSP could affect the Canby community. By knowing what might be ahead, we can better plan to meet our community's needs. It also helps us find the most efficient and affordable options. We want to make sure these choices are environmentally and financially sustainable before construction begins.

Starting this work now is a responsible choice. Early planning gives us enough time to get it right for ratepayers, the environment, and future Canby residents. The CWSP is a critical investment in protecting our community’s health - one that will create a resilient drinking water supply system for generations to come.

Throughout this process, Canby Utility will continue sharing updates and inviting community input. As plans take shape, we’ll provide opportunities to learn more about how the drinking water supply system will work, the benefits it will bring, and how it will impact you.
