Water sustains what we love about Canby: our residents, local businesses, and nature. Canby Utility (CU) is investing in a new water supply and treatment plant to improve water quality and meet the future needs of residents, businesses, industry, and fire protection.
The Canby Water Supply Program (CWSP) consists of three projects: a new intake and pumps to draw water from the Willamette River, new water pipes, and a best-in-class water treatment plant. Together, these projects will provide reliable, high-quality water to Canby for generations to come.
The program is currently in the “Conceptual Engineering” phase. That means the program team is looking at options for how and where to build the new intake, water pipes, and treatment plant. The team will develop these options in more detail during the design phase. CU expects to start construction in 2028. Timing could change.
