Posting yard sale, political, or lost pet signs on utility poles is usually prohibited — even in public power cities — for a number of reasons:
- Line workers climb poles during outages. Nails and staples can cause injuries.
- Crews need clear access to wires and equipment.
- Signs can loosen in high winds and make contact with overhead lines, causing damage.
- Poles are utility-owned, and unauthorized postings can violate Utility policy.
Check with the City of Canby for local approved posting locations instead.
